In the last part of the project, the PI systematically compares, analyzes and integrates the results of projects 1-4 as well as other academic literature on these issues in order to produce a novel theory on how family matters for understanding long-term population change and the cultural disparities therein, resulting in a monograph “The Power of the Family. Family Influences on Long-Term Fertility Decline in Europe, 1850-2010”
